FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nashville, TN – Prepare for the soul-stirring release of Wayland’s “Other End” on January 26, the second installment from their eagerly awaited album, “On The Way,” available worldwide on March 15.
Crafted in the seclusion of a Michigan cabin, “Other End” stands as a testament to Wayland’s evolution amid personal growth, catalyzed by Phillip’s (lead guitar player) transformative journey following a poignant divorce. The serene Michigan woods provided the backdrop for Phillip’s introspection, influencing the emotionally charged single.
Returning to Joshua Tree, CA, and collaborating with Mitch, (lead singer) the duo birthed a song capturing the raw essence of personal struggle and growth—a visceral response to seven years of relentless touring, experiencing the toll on hearts and the band itself.
A milestone in Wayland’s career, “Other End” marks the first release solely produced by Phillip. The creative process unfolded in Joshua Tree, California, where the band pushed beyond their comfort zone, seamlessly blending rock, country, and bluegrass influences.
Adding a layer of authenticity, childhood friend and former seventh-grade bandmate, Ryan Jensen, joined the recording. A childhood friend’s contribution during such a vulnerable time on such a raw track enhanced the authenticity of the song.
For a true bluegrass feel, Caleb Hanks from Asheville, NC, showcased his mastery on the mandolin.
“Other End” radiates Phill’s bluegrass roots and the band’s eclectic fusion of rock and country, weaving a tapestry of poignancy and power. Wayland’s ability to seamlessly merge genres attests to their musical prowess and ongoing artistic evolution. Look for “On The Way” out everywhere March 15.
